Bridging the gap

Trying so hard to bridge the gap,

Between the past and the present-

To get a better grip of these emotions,

And live for today rather than the past.
Bridging the gap is not easy,

No, it takes time, patience and courage,

To be able to smile without a façade,

And embrace today without any regrets.
Eventually, we bridge those gaps,

With a few dents and missing screws,

Life seems a while lot better,

As we embrace the present and let go of the latter.

Post in response to today’s one-word prompt- Bridge
